Longcliffe is one of the few independently owned industrial mineral processing companies in the UK. We quarry over one million tonnes of carboniferous limestone (calcium carbonate) and dolomitic limestone each year.

Limestone is one of the most versatile minerals on earth. Many of the materials that we take for granted in everyday life require limestone at different stages of their production. Here, in the Brassington area, we are fortunate to have one of the purest deposits of this mineral in the UK.

As a family owned business we are proud to have been providing this essental mineral for almost 100 years and look forward to servicing the needs of our customers for the next 100.

We are committed to operating sustainably and have a goal to be carbon neutral to the weighbridge by 2030.  Our business contributes £20 million a year to the local economy through wages, rates and other spend with local suppliers.  We value the integral role we play in the local community and contribute around £80,000 annually to a wide range of projects and organisations including schools and grass roots sports clubs.
