Permeable paving is increasingly being utilised to assist in the drainage of surface water. There are various engineering methods available to control the flow of surface water which comply with the sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) regulations to capture, store and slowly release back into the natural environment in a controlled manner.
Aggregates produced at our two Derbyshire quarries are suitable for use alongside permeable paving blocks and open cell grid systems. Our crushed aggregates, such as Type 3 and 63-10mm, are used as a sub-base underneath block paving. 6mm limestone is recommended as a laying coarse and along with 5-1mm can be used as an infill and for jointing between the paving.
125-75mm, 80-40mm and 40-20mm aggregates are also available for use in filter drains, soak-away construction, and attenuation storage.
All the aggregate products we supply into this application are compliant to BS 7533-13:2009.
