Longcliffe is one of the few independently owned industrial mineral processing companies in the UK. We quarry over one million tonnes of limestone (calcium carbonate) and dolomitic limestone each year.
We have a diverse and comprehensive range of products including specialty high purity calcium carbonate grits and powders, limestone and dolomitic aggregates, agricultural limes and liquid floor screeds.
Calcium Carbonate is an extremely versatile mineral used by manufactures of many everyday items such as glass, plasterboard, concrete, carpet backing, shower trays and animal feeds.
Sustainability is not just about being ‘green’. To be truly sustainable, we need to ensure our business is economically, socially and environmentally viable. We are working hard to ensure our operations continue to improve in terms of the impact they have on the local environment and community, at the same time as ensuring we are running a successful business.
We directly employ over 190 people, some of whom have parents, grandparents and great grandparents who also worked for the company. We are proud of the fact that many of our team have celebrated long service; and 91% live within a 20-mile radius of our sites.

My role is extremely varied, managing the engineering functions, focussing on continuous improvement.

My job is to deliver calcium carbonate products to our customers.
Whilst my title is H&S Manager, the responsibility for safety sits with everyone.
I manage the drying, screening and classifying plants, which make our numerous products.
I am a first point of contact for customers. I answer any queries and then process orders.
I deal with all aspects of land management and planning matters.
I look after all the maintenance for the production side of the business.
As Driver Trainer I work with all our tanker and tipper drivers to ensure maximum safety and efficiency.
